To celebrate the accomplishments of Strayer University’s graduates, please join us for Virtual Commencement on December 7, 2024. Virtual Commencement will uphold many of our commencement ceremony traditions while creating a unique and exciting experience for our graduates and their families and friends - including messages from University leaders, featured students and speakers, name reading, and more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who is eligible to participate in Virtual Commencement?
Graduates and students who are within two courses of completing their degree at the time of the ceremony who are registered by the registration deadline will be included in the ceremony.
If I'm not able to watch the ceremony at the scheduled time, will I be able to watch later?
If you cannot view the virtual ceremony at the arranged time, the video recording will be available to watch at the link provided after the event on Saturday, December 7th.
Why is my name not included in the Virtual Commencement ceremony video?
If you do not see your name listed in the December Virtual Commencement ceremony video, or in the printed program, then you were not registered for this ceremony. If you were not included in this ceremony, then you are welcome to register and participate in a future commencement ceremony once more information is available.
Can I still attend a future in-person ceremony if I participate in Virtual Commencement?
Yes! You are welcome to participate in a future in-person ceremony even if you choose to attend Virtual Commencement. Just make sure you are registered for each ceremony separately by the deadline date noted.
Do I need to register for Virtual Commencement?
Yes! Only those who register for Virtual Commencement by the deadline date noted will be included. You will NOT automatically be added to the list.
Do I need to purchase a cap and gown for Virtual Commencement?
Purchasing a cap and gown is NOT required for Virtual Commencement, but you have the option to purchase through Jostens by the deadline date if you'd like to wear it for a photo to be shown during the virtual ceremony.
Do I have to submit a photo for Virtual Commencement?
A photo is encouraged to upload, but NOT required, and will be shown during the name reading portion of the ceremony. In order to have the best presentation, the photo should be:
- An individual photo - please no group photos or collages!
- Professional-looking; wear your cap and gown, Strayer branded gear, or business casual attire
- JPEG or PNG photo file ONLY
- File size should NOT exceed 10MB
- Please label your photo file as your FULL NAME before uploading to your registration (i.e. FirstLast.jpg; First.Last.jpg; First_Last.jpg)
Is this the only Virtual Commencement ceremony taking place for 2024 graduates?
Yes, we will only be holding one virtual commencement ceremony in 2024.
Will I receive my diploma after commencement?
The Strayer University Records department will perform a Final Academic Requirements Evaluation and confer your degree once all requirements have been met. For more information visit the Diplomas or FAQs section.
