Digital proficiency is a must-have skill in today’s job market. To fully prepare students to compete for jobs, Strayer University has ensured that digital skills are now an integral part of the learning experience.

All undergraduate students will complete a course that teaches fundamental computing skills and a series of courses that will teach the mind-set and processes needed to navigate and use new technologies as well as identify the right tools to accomplish their goals.

The curriculum of 15 core general education courses has been infused with lessons that will help students experience digital proficiency in a variety of contexts and tools. Navigation and search tools such as Microsoft Office and Google, and social and cloud-based programs will become second-nature as students consistently work with and deliver projects using these resources.

“We have infused digital tools and touchpoints throughout the Strayer University learning journey, so that students become comfortable and proficient with the most commonly used applications today,” said Dr. Lauren Philip, Dean of Academic Programs. “When students graduate, not only will they have a solid set of digital skills, but they will also understand how those skills and tools increase communication and efficiency in the workplace. It’s all part of our goal to prepare students for today’s competitive jobs.”
